On March 20, 2018, Maintex acquired Champion Chemical Company, a Whittier-based chemical manufacturer and distributer. The experienced sales and customer service staff from Champion have joined our team of specialists and will continue to service existing accounts. We are excited to add Champion to the Maintex family, and look forward to introducing ourselves to Champion customers.
Founded in 1960, Champion provided chemicals for Southern and Northern California school districts and public entities. The former owner and founder of Champion, David Ellis, remembers seeing Maintex founder Ralph Silverman drop off bids to the same potential education customers. When he decided to sell his business, David personally reached out to Maintex, believing we would be a good fit.
We are excited to be adding the Champion product line along with Champion's sales and customer service staff to the Maintex family. This acquisition allows us to continue to service Champion's existing customers with the full range of custom-formulated chemicals they have come to expect, as well as Maintex's full line of cleaning chemicals, supplies, tools, and equipment.
Our ability to make and deliver a wide range of products as well as provide unique solutions enables us to be a one-stop provider for all of Champion’s customers.
Thanks to a collaborative effort from both teams, we have had a smooth and streamlined integration of the Champion brand into the Maintex family.
